mobile app development: idea to launch, like a product

last updated: July 18, 2026

agend is a product-minded mobile app development agency building iOS, Android and cross-platform apps for businesses. Discovery, design, build, launch and iteration run as one process: we validate the right problem first, build a scalable MVP, handle App Store and Google Play publishing, and grow the product on real usage data after launch.

writing code is the easy part of a mobile app. the hard part is building a product people want to keep on their phone: one that solves the right problem, shows its value on first open, and convinces users to install from the store page onward.

that's why we work like your product team, not a software subcontractor: we challenge the idea, shrink the scope together, ship the working core first, then grow it with real user data. the goal isn't delivering code — it's shipping a product that sticks.

what's included

  • Product discovery: target users, problem validation, scope and MVP definition
  • UX/UI design: user flows, clickable prototype and a custom interface for your brand
  • iOS, Android or cross-platform development: native or single codebase, chosen per project
  • Backend and integrations: APIs, notifications, payments, accounts and existing-system connections
  • App Store and Google Play launch: store listing and ASO fundamentals (title, keywords, screenshots)
  • Post-launch measurement and iteration: analytics, crash monitoring, release planning

how we work

  1. discovery and validation

For whom, which problem, and why an app? We define the target user and success metrics, then cut scope down to the smallest product that works (the MVP). Sometimes the honest answer is "test it on the web first" — and we'll say so.

  2. design and prototype

We map the user flows and build a clickable prototype. You try the product in your hands before any code is written — expensive changes get made while they're still cheap.

  3. build and test

We pick native (Swift/Kotlin) or cross-platform (React Native/Flutter-class) per project, develop in two-week sprints, and hand you a working build to test at the end of every sprint.

  4. launch and iterate

We run the App Store and Google Play submission processes and set up the store listing on ASO fundamentals. After launch we track usage data and prioritize the release plan with you.

native or cross-platform?

Be skeptical of agencies that give every project the same answer. Cross-platform (iOS + Android from one codebase) is the sensible route for most business apps: lower cost, one team, both stores at once. Native development earns its premium when a product needs hardware-close features, heavy animation or maximum performance.

We start the decision from the product, not the technology: whichever your use case, budget and team plan actually require is what we recommend — with the reasoning in writing.

shipping isn't enough: getting found and keeping users

Most apps fail not for technical reasons but because nobody discovers them and early users leave within a week. So we treat the store page as a storefront: ASO fundamentals (the right title, keywords, screenshot narrative), the first-open experience and the notification strategy that brings users back are all planned from the start.

We stay after launch too: analytics and crash monitoring ship installed, you see which features get used, and the next releases are prioritized by measurement, not guesswork. Combined with our digital marketing team, install growth runs under the same roof.

frequently asked questions

How much does a mobile app cost?
Scope decides: between a simple single-purpose MVP and a multi-module product with accounts, payments and live data, cost can vary 5–10x. We work with a fixed-price MVP package or a monthly team model; after discovery you get a firm scope and a firm number — no surprises mid-project.
How long until the app is live?
A typical MVP reaches the stores in 10–16 weeks: 2–3 weeks of discovery and design, 6–10 weeks of development and testing, 1–2 weeks of store review. Bigger scope means more time; we commit to the timeline after discovery and show progress at every sprint.
Do I pay separately for iOS and Android?
For most projects, no: with a cross-platform approach we ship to both platforms from one codebase, at a cost well below two separate native apps. Where native is genuinely required, we flag it in discovery and explain the difference — with reasons — up front.
How do maintenance and updates work after launch?
An app is a living product: OS updates, store policies and user feedback all demand regular releases. We include a post-delivery defect warranty, then continue on a monthly maintenance and development plan. The code and accounts belong to you — we hand over to your own team whenever you choose.
